Madeleine Hay is currently exercising her creativity as an artist, designer, dancer & poet. She has professional experience in the high-end fashion design and interior design worlds as well as a foundational education in the fine arts. After completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Apparel Design from RISD she went on to pursue one of her greatest passions, fashion design. She has since branched much further out in her creative ventures with her personal works and commissioned projects encompassing a vast range of mediums from digital painting to abstract artwork to children’s book illustration. Madeleine works with a multi-faceted and intuitive approach in all of her projects. Whether it is designing womenswear apparel, painting a piece of fine artwork or composing a poem, the usual way Madeleine begins a creation is by a catching a wisp of divine imagining and scribbling it onto a post-it note, to be re-visited at a later date. Wild color, whimsy and dreamy moods are the common threads throughout her work. The conception of a series is often illuminated by a subtle undercurrent of a philosophical and poetic nature. The mind is a vessel, the hands are the tools, and the work is the avenue of expression to inspire others. Madeleine believes that creativity, like life, needs freedom to thrive. There is an “untamed creative” within everyone, waiting to be released so that the most radiant expression of a person’s soul and an artist’s work can be fully realized.
